Little Gift Box

So I made this little box.
The finished result didn't turn out as I hoped. I must be hones. I do always struggle when using Mousses, waxes etc as I always feel the effect is too messy and a bit Homemade.
But hey ho trying things out of my comfort zone so a bit of messy crafting it was.
The box I have made these loads of times. It's all in one and i got the original idea from a Pootles video.
Made the box using black card stock, cut a Tonic Die and coloured it with Creative Expressions Mouse. Punched out some flowers from Tonic Petal Pairs coloured again with the mousse and did a double colour of centre using Nuvo drops. Added some washi tap around the side of the box and topped with a Mother die cut (again) Tonic.
Then added a touch of mousse to the edges to finish off.
So here is the finished box. As I say a bit grungy for my liking.

My first Brother Scan n Cut project

After umming and ahhing over the Brother Scan n Cut.
Not needing, not wanting. I finally caved in and bought the Scan n Cut CM700 limited edition when it was on offer on Create and Craft.
I have a few other cutting machines but the lure of the deal, great demonstrations by John Bloodworth and the final nail in the coffin FLEXI-PAY. How could I resist?

So I took it out of the box, linked it to my wi-fi, updated the firmware and then put it back in the box.
I had an idea of a project I wanted to create.
A work colleague had just had a baby and I wanted to do a 3D  frame with the baby's name, weight etc on it.
So using Brother Scan n Cut Canvas I designed what i wanted in there, sent it over wireless to the machine and cut.

Here is the finished project.

Hope you like it. Thanks for dropping by.

Elvis Gone but Never forgotten

A member of our team was leaving and I was tasked with his card. Or the truth be told I volunteered to do the honours.  Couldn't have him leaving us with an awful Funky Pigeon card now could we?
I shouldn't say that now. I've now offended all the Funky Pigeon card lovers. yeh like my blog has that many viewers
What I should say is, he wouldn't have felt much effort had gone into it if we'd given him a normal card!!
Mind you he is a bloke so probably opened and though...hmm no money. What a waste of time.
Anyway here is the card and I'll shut up now.

Visible Image Stay Curious Cats

Oh! I saw this stamp set and some of the amazing samples kicking about Facebook and I had to have them.
I am of course a cat person, given half the chance I'd have a house full of fur babies.
I'm also going through a stage of trying to make some cat themed cat cards after adopting a gorgeous cat from Cat Protection. I also want to make sure that any cards I make stick out so they can sell them to add to their funds.
This stamp set fits the bill perfectly. It's been a wee while. I must admit since I got inky so was a bit apprehensive. Would it be messy crafting or just making a right old mess?
So out with the inks and guess what? I still have some Big and Juicy inkpads (really) and they are still rather juicy.
Here are the 3 cards I came up with. I must admit. I am happy with them all. Well..... like every other crafter on the planet, if pushed I would pick faults with them all but is that not what we do?

So the stamp set is by Visible Image a UK company and the set is called Stay Curious

Cash For Kids Superhero Day

So, the Radio Station I listen to Clyde 1 was doing a Superhero day to raise funds for Cash For Kids.
The plan is get your co-workers to turn up at work dressed as a Superhero or in a Superhero theme.

I thought this would have been fun. So sent out the memo, put up the posters and started things rolling.

To get people to part with more cash on the day. I made up sweetie cups & cones and also designed some Superhero panels to fit onto handmade boxes. In these boxes the treats were a bit more special. Luxury Caramels and delicious fudge.

The day was so much fun, everything sold and I managed to raise £445 for cash for kids so I was over the moon.

So here are my goodies. The Handmade boxes were made using Tonic Studios Balloon Weigh Box die, the graphics for the panels were done by me in a graphics program.

Thanks for dropping by and having a look
